I love using my waffle maker to make all sorts of meals and snacks for my family. I enjoy trying out new ideas, but you can never go wrong with a traditional waffle. Well, unless you forget to spray it with cooking spray...then, you are in for a looooong night of carefully soaking, scrubbing, and scraping to get all of that burned batter out of those tiny crevices.
As you can see from the pictures, the hours of work were worth it! The second time around, I remembered to generously spray the waffle maker first, and it turned out much better. I found the batter to be quite a bit thinner and more delicate than the homemade version I am used to, but if I had used less water than the box suggests, they likely would have been more similar to my usual pancakes.
This waffle sandwich was easy to assemble and includes half of one waffle cut and stacked with a thin layer of Sneaky Chef No-Nut Butter and sliced banana in between them. Then, I dipped the sandwich in melted Enjoy Life baking chocolate and topped with a small scoop of ice cream and a slice of strawberry. Yum!
