Our Disney Experience with Food Allergies and Gluten Free

Kathy Thornburg

Disney is a magical experience but it can be overwhelming- especially if you have dietary restrictions and food allergies. I've got to say to that Disney is very food allergy aware and it's clear that the staff there have been trained and know what to do to provide you with a safe and enjoyable dining experience. If you have the time and budget for it, I hear the character dining experiences are wonderful and super special. For us, we kept it low key and chose fast dining places so we could get back to the rides (life with kids!)

Food Spots at Disney World and Disney Springs (the ones WE visited)...
Casey's Corner
Cosmic Ray's Starlight Café
Pinocchio Village Haus
Backlot Express
Blaze Fast-Fired Pizza
The Daily Poutine

What to bring to DISNEY | Are the Disney strollers worth it?

Kathy Thornburg

Heading to Disney and not sure what to bring? Here are some must have items for your vacation. With limited luggage space, you need to make your choices wisely!

If you prepare for your trip in advance, it can help you save money, time, and stress in the Disney parks. Can you buy a clip on fan at Disney? Yes. Do you want to pay the inflated cost by buying it at Magic Kingdom? I don’t think so!

Travel Space Bags- A great way to keep your clothes organized by day
Adult / Child Poncho Pack- Florida can go from sunshine to rain anytime
Clip On Fans- Perfect for keeping kids cool in the stroller
Blue Lizard Sensitive Sunscreen- Avoid miserable and dangerous burns
Tissue Packs- Keep a pack handy so you never have to stop
Band-Aids- Disney is magical but boo boos still happen
Travel Wet Ones- Clean surfaces and hands with ease
Frio Medication Bag- Keep your temperature sensitive meds safe
Phone Charger Pack- Be ready when your phone is running low
Flat Water Bottles- Lightweight and easy to transport
Activities- Best deals can be found at Dollar Tree and Target
Disney Pez Dispensers- Bring gifts with you to avoid buying expensive souvenirs
GoSqueez Snacks- Easy snacks on the go are a must with kids
Nature's Bakery Bars- Great snack for kids and adults- gluten free variety available
Magic Bands- Wear your ticket on your arm with easy access to perks
Bubble Bum Booster Seats- Lightweight travel friendly way to keep kids safe
Disney Stroller- Easy to maneuver and simple to rent
Our Favorite Carry On Luggage- Useful compartments and features with a hard shell case

I did not mention this in the video, but we stayed at a resort while visiting Florida. We packed swim gear in our luggage so our kids could play in the pools with us with more confidence and added safety. Here are the swim vests we brought for the resort…
Speedo Swim Vest- Loved the design of the attached shirt which helped it stay in place
Hyperlite Swim Vest- Bright and made of comfortable material (cheaper at Costco!)

Let me know in the comments what you recommend bringing to Disney. I’d love to know. Have a magical vacation!

We went to Disney and it was magical (and very hot). We spent one entire day at Hollywood Studios and we made the most of every moment. We started with magic hour, met lots of Star Wars characters, rode some rides, watched a lot of shows, and rode our favorite ride of the day in the NEW Toy Story Land!
